"My family and I ate in IX-Xatba three nights in a row and it would have been four if they opened on Tuesdays! It is clearly the best restaurant in Mellieha Bay and it is not hard to see why. Firstly, the food is amazing! I tried something different every night and loved them all. All of the fish is fresh! I had seabream, red snapper, king prawns and muscles which were all delicious however the best meal was the lobster that we pre-ordered which was cooked to perfection.
"I went here for six nights in a row as the food was absolutely delicious. I simply opted for catch of the day every night with the exception of one where I had octopus and received a different fish each time!
"We stayed in st pauls bay but we went here for dinner once and food was really good. We had the fish mix and fish shell, it was truly amazing. And my partner had the raviolli, also very good. Try the maltese dessert, its a cake done with layers of icecream, very good. The staff is very friendly"
"We liked this restaurant so much we went back again and would have gone back more times had it not been for the fact that we opted for half board on our second week.
"We went here on our 5th night of our holidays. We luckily were early enough to get one of the small tables outside. The two larger ones were reserved. Quite a few people walked away when realising they couldn't eat al fresco - more fool them! We were made to feel very welcome and the waitress was very attentive and was very nice to our two year old daughter. We went straight to mains. I had lobster for the first time and it was lovely. Gorgeous in fact. Although the waitress kindly helped me with shelling the wee blighter! Hubby had the mixed shell & fish dish which he enjoyed thoroughly! The wee one had a spaghetti dish which she enjoyed as well. You get complementary bread & garlic bread. The quality of the food was fabulous!Nothing could be faulted. Brilliant wee place and I couldnt recommend it highly enough - even if you have to sit inside!!"
"We where staying in Mellieha, just along the road and thought this would be good for our first night.
"Not sure if this review will count, but I can only pass on comments made to my wife and I, we were unable to go to this restaurant ourself due to other commitments , but two sets of people we made friends with while in malta in Oct 2011 raved about this smallish place, a little above normal price but absolute quality, situated just to the right of the Luna Complex towards beach, we will definetly be trying it next time we visit."
"We have just retuned from a two week holiday and this was the only resterant that we visited twice. we were a party that comtained 3 generations and tried both fish and meat courses all were first class, they even catered off menu for a picky grandson. I would heartyly recomend this resterant, pleasant staff, great food and a good wine list."
"Small cosy restaurant clad with Maltese traditonal features. The food was excellent, well cooked as desired but still juicy. Service was good except that the bottle of wine was opened at the bar and not on our table."
"As usual. Been to ix-Xatba a number of times now and they never fail to impress. The fish is just the freshest and some of the best prepared on the island."
"This place is lovely. Small, cosy and the staff are very attentive. The food is fresh and not too dear. Staff are also very friendly."
"This unasuming restaurant-from the outside-belies the quality of food, service and ambience that we found within. A varied menu is available which, depending on freshness and availabilty, the lead waitress is happy to advise you on. I had read about this restaurant on tripadvisor and found a true gem. For once, the quiet yet perfectly pitched music was a pleasure to dine to instead of raucus offerings from "the charts". It certainly was well worth sampling and I will return there when next in Malta. As far as we are concerned, the whole experience was made "Five Star" for us. The Ollies."
"We loved Ix-Xatba and the staff. Food was good, summer night outside in the terrace warm and the traditional Maltese cuisine tasty."
"We are from Switzerland and as my husband is himself a kitchen chief he enjoys trying the local cooking. We went to Ix-Xatba Restaurant and found a little jewel for what the ambience, cleanness, and the quality of the food and the service is concerned. The owners Sarah and Ray are exquisite people always priding themselves to make the guests feel at home and to serve excellent and outstanding food (especially gorgeous fish, but we strongly recommend also the traditional rabit dish). All the staff was very friendly and although I have problems with food intollerances all were very understanding and helpfull, meeting all my extra wishes in order to make me feel well.
"My 4 children and I chose Ix-Xatba for our last night meal. It was brilliant - suited our often conflicting tastes - fantastic fish in various guises,to delicious pasta and home made chicken nuggets - the staff were really friendly and their offer of advice on how to liberate lobster meat was gratefully received by my younger son. All very reasonable too. You've got to go."
"Very friendly staff amazing food, only wish they had seafood option on children's menu!!! Going back before we go home.:-) 5*****"
"When it comes to dining out, it's always very easy to stick with what you know.
"We were staying at the Luna Holiday Complex next door and initially werent really sure what to make of this restaurant - what a mistake! The appearance of the Ix-Xatba is quite different from the more modern (and dare I say boring) restaurants down the road, but this only adds to the charm. After realising that the best restaurants we've ever been to have been the small, family run and slightly old fashioned looking ones we gave it a go, thank goodness we did! The staff were friendly, welcoming and were always smiling even when they were very busy.
"If you love home cooking then you will love Ix-xatba, the little places that look a little rough on the outside arn't always bad. The food is amazing, the first time I when I had the pate for starter, all home made including the bread. I had the rabbit for mains and the meat just falls off the bone the veg and potatoes are also great.
"Friendly and attentive staff, generous portions, especially the pasta dishes, the calamari were very fresh and perfectly cooked. The restaurant was busy each time we passed and once we tasted the food we knew why?"
"A small intimate little resturant run by Sahra and Ray,Ray makes pepper steak like no where else in Malta, and I have tried a lot of them, his Aljotta ( fish soup) is divine as are all his dishes, the vegatetables are all local and freshly cooked and served at the table by the delightful Sarah,a woman with an infectious laugh and always so friendly,as are the others that work there, prices are very reasonable and the have a well stocked bar,out of fouteen days holiday we always eat there at least seven or eight times,as Arnie says " I will be back"
"Excellent lobster! Service was great, wine very well priced - staff were brilliant. Although its on the main road, it's well worth a visit"
"Visited this restaurant again on a recent trip to Malta. The welcome was so nice, they remembered us from the previous year. The food is excellent and so is the service. This is definately one of our favorite restaurants on the island. The choice and knowledge of local fish is second to none!! Would definately visit again"
"Visited twice and each time the meal was excellent. This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is always full both with tourists and locals which tells it's own story. Excellent."
"Five minutes from the beach on the way up to the village lies this small and very friendly restaurang. They have 4 outside tables so if you want to sit outside better book ahead. This resaurangt is family runned. They serve a varity of m typical maltese cuisine. The lamb, rabbit and beef is highly recommened.Prices at the mid range for both food and wine. They also serve a great seafood pasta. Fresh fish are diplayed on the counter.
"The restaurant decor is quite quaint - a mix between and old English pub and a rustic Maltese farmhouse. It's quite small so I recommend booking. The food selection on the menu is quite vast. The meat and lobster were fantastic. Service was also great - very well mannered and helpful staff. Easy to park in the area in Spring/Autumn/Winter but I guess it will be quite busy in Summer. Would definitely go again and would also recommend it."
"We arrived in Meliieha and we were a bit disappointed about the location but what a revelation, we found 3 restaurants in the area that would challenge any of ours at home. The staff were an absolute pleasure, funny but not over familiar, food was wonderful all brilliantly cooked but above all ix xatba the welcome given by Sahra and Ray (and don't forget mum) was exceptional. We would recommend this place to anybody that goes to this area, throw away the guide book and stick to places like ix-xatba.
"This is a lovely small maltese restuarant. It is run by a husband and wife with a nephew serving at tables. The restuarant has a nice cosy feel to it and the food is lovely would definately recommend it"
I first found out about this gem through Tripadvisor, it being ranked one of the best restaurants in Mellieha, and decided to visit the website www.xatbarestaurant.com in order to view the menu. When we first arrived at the restaurant on a Saturday evening we were given a warm welcome by the hostess Sarah, who is the most helpful when it comes to suggesting options from the fresh food selection, especially fresh fish available.
"First timer visiting this restaurant in the very quiet area of Ghadira, Mellieha. Don't let the modest facade mislead you...the restaurant is very cozy and the staff are very nice and friendly. I don't usually opt for seafood but I did here and I do not regret it one bit. Every dish is genuinely prepared and it shows. Service is fast and well timed. Portions are just right. Pesce San Pietro was absolutely perfect. Recommended to locals and foreigners alike. Top notch !"
"If you're staying in Mellieha or the surrounding area, this should be on your list for a great meal. Inside it's cosy and traditional, perfect for a romantic evening meal.
"Highly recommend this cosy & traditional restaurant. The staff are extremely sweet and helpfulI always ready to make sure you are satisfied all throughout your meal. You will never have to wave your hand in the air, or constantly try to get their attention, because they are always ready and alert to quickly attend to your table.
If you are keen on traditional Maltese food or FRESH fish and seafood, then this is one of the places to go if you are visiting the northern part of the island in Mellieha."
"It was our first time to Malta and we were looking for a restaurant , so we asked someone if they knew a good restaurant and they recommended Ix-Xatba. As soon as we got there we were welcomed. The food was amazing and the service was great and we enjoyed it thoroughly. The pasta dishes were lovely, Bolognese/Ravioli/penne and the grilled squid perfectly cooked. Great place"

"SIMPLY THE BEST !!!!!! Been here several times with various members of my
family --- from two of us to twenty two !!!! Tasty and varied food to suit every
palatte , beautifully cooked by Ray and 1st class service by Sarah , her Mum and
the girls"
"We went as a treat to ourselves, and to sample some traditional Mediterranean
food, and were not disappointed. Made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped
through the door, the service was very warm and not rushed or pushy at all, in
fact we were told to not rush our meals to make sure we are it all. The food was
beautiful, and the fresh catch selection is displayed out the front of the
restaurant. The atmosphere is very traditional and homely, a must visit in
mellieha!"

"Had a lovely romantic meal, service was brilliant and the food was excellent.
The rabbit stew was very well cooked and the restauarnt has so much character."
"This excellent little resturant deserves to be patronised, the food is
brilliant, the staff are so friendly and a very good selection of wines and
drinks so why go anywhere else."
"We stayed in Malta for a week & this was the only restaurant we visited twice,
the food was excellent and cooked perfectly, staff were very helpful & attentive
and the atmosphere is friendly & relaxing. We tried the fish & steak both we're
excellent. I have a dairy allergy & the staff & chef couldn't have been more
helpful, they adapted the steak meal & made sure my food was still top class, I
was very, very impressed. Unfortunately not all restaurants provide such a
brilliant service if you need to adapt a meal (Il Mithna). Huge thank you to all
the family that run the restaurant, it was a pleasure to meet you. This
restaurant is no 1 in Mellieha for me."
"Good service, you were made to feel like a friend. the fish was prepared
gorgeously. Prices were quite good too."
"A group of ten of us walked in off the street and were greeted with a smile. As
they already had a booking for 15 they had to put us on two tables (the space is
quite small) but the food was tasty and came out in good time. There were no
issues or problems and the seafood went down well with several of our party. We
would definitely go there again if we ever get over to Malta for another visit."
"Lovely friendly staff, and food was great. We would certainly recommend it,
especially the local dishes and seafood."
"I have just returned from mt Malta trip and again I dined in Ix Xatba resturant
in Ghardera the atmosphere was very congenial and welcoming, the beer was nice
and cold and the food superb, Ray the chef makes the finest Aljota (fish soup) I
have ever tasted,he makes it fresh for you and it arrives hot and very very
tasty, again I orderd pepper steak, medium rare it arrived cooked to perfection,it
really is a very good resturant."

"When I really want to pamper myself, I just sneak around the corner and eat
fresh fish in Ix-Xatba in Ghadira Bay. The quality never varies."
"Great service, great food, the beef stroganoff was truly amazing but the rest was great aswell, best restaurant I visited so far in Malta."
"We went to this restaurant 3 times whilst on holiday as we've been before . The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection not hurried and the staff so friendly and happy when u arrive . Best restaurant in mellieha by far . Especially the fish"
"This lovely little restaurant was just along the road from our hotel. The food is spectacular, I had lobster one day and a great pepper fillet steak the next. Both cooked to perfection and very tasty. Fantastic service and great wine too! We had a problem with our credit card on the second occasion and the lovely lady (sorry I didn't know her name) couldn't have been nicer and more helpful about it. We eventually settled it and she made us feel so much better about the experience. Keep up the good work, you were the best place we ate at in Mellieha and you're doing a great job."

"It is not the first time that our dinners at Ix-Xatba turn out to be a procession of seafood marvels. Fresh Mussels, Grilled Calamari, Local Fresh Prawns or Octopus in Garlic are always available. Any two of these we normally have as starters.
Sarah, the disarmingly chummy, now pregnant, hostess has a knack for making us choose the right food. After having settled on the starters, she then makes an elegant appearance with a tray of some of the freshest fish (not farmed) in stock, letting us debate what to choose and how it is to be cooked.
Ray, her chef husband, is also the proprietor of this restaurant that has the characteristics of countryside inn. Luckily for us, he’s a stunningly talented, proudly old-school chef who is not afraid to pile on rich, but simple, ingredients. His menu is the sort of thing diehard foodies brag about discovering. We discovered this place ages ago and entered it amongst our top five eateries.
Tonight we decided to vary our palate. Two of us had the ever tasty Aljotta (fish soup) whilst my wife tucked into a plate of plain no sauce Ravioli. That’s the way she likes them. Plates cleared, Paul and I decided to have half a Lobster each. It was Paul’s first taste of lobster and I must say he really enjoyed his half of Fresh Lobster in Garlic. My wife just stood by seeing us feasting ourselves on one of the world's culinary delights. The experience of eating lobster can get a little messy and not withstanding we were very careful we did stain our shirts. Anyhow, the lobster got demolished, fingers got licked, and both of us had fun. However, next time round we might ask for bibs. (lol).
For our main dish our friend decided to share a grilled fresh Corb with my wife. Contrary to their expectations, I went for a tender, juicy medium rare Fillet Steak with Pepper Sauce on the side. I almost had a food orgasm biting into the sublimely pink meat. Fillet steaks are renowned for a reason, and when it is cooked well, the taste is succulently delicious. As an accompaniment we all had fresh salad and oven baked potatoes.
Stomach full we skipped dessert. Our petite waitress then served us with an after dinner drink graciously offered by the restaurant duo of husband and wife. Total bill for the night came to €40 inclusive of tips. Bill included 2 beers and 2 bottles of water.
Mindful eating and learning to savour your food simply makes eating more pleasurable. Ix-Xtaba offers you the chance to do just that."
"Once again I visited this small but excellent restaurant which I first found in desperation some years back when returning late and hungry from Gozo to Malta. It is situated at the bottom of the hill just a few metres (Well a few hundred metres) from the ferry.
It specialises in fish and for a starter I had the King Prawns in garlic which were lightly cooked and melted on the tongue leaving you ready for the mains.
My main course was a superbly cooked piece of steak and firstly let me say that the Chef who also buys the meat certainly knows his stuff!! The steak was free of any gristle and nicely marbled with a little fat and as I had ordered mine rare came with griddle marked outsides but superbly read inside. The meat was easy to eat and the flavour just blew my mind. The sauce that accompanied was unusual but very good and although hot was far enough away NOT to continue to "cook" my steak so well done on the serving!
I was eating outside and encouraged lots of passers by to tarry and degust.
Great food, great atmosphere and low price so what's not to like?"
"We were there last night for the last night of our holiday in Mellieha. We had been disappointed by the food overall in Mellieha but judging by the good reviews decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. My son, age six, had chicken and chips....it was delicious and a huge portion. My mother had beef stroganoff which we all had to try as it was delicious and again a very generous portion. The other three of us had the rib eye steak, it was huge and delicious, the potatoes and veg were beautifully cooked . The local wine was delicious and reasonabe. For pudding we had lemon sorbet and apple pie, all flawless. The atmosphere was great and the bill surprisingly reasonable!! Wished we had went on the first night as we would not have went anywhere else."
"We had a lovely meal here, My Partner had Pork Fillet and I had Swordfish. The wine was good, and the crusty bread delivered to our table at the beginning of the meal was gorgeous - fresh out of the oven."
"On Thursday 8th August we stooped for dinner at the Ix xatba restaurant in mellieha bay and the welcome we received was first class, very friendly, very helpful and all given to us with the broadest of smiles! Our order was taken we we were ready and the drinks arrived swiftly, our starter was freshly cooked and delicious and portions were large along with fresh Maltese bread, the steak I had for my main course was without doubt the best I have had on the island and the service and staff were second to none in their care for us. I would highly recommend this eatery as very very good and you won't be robbed price wise. Well worth a visit" Visited August 2013
"Visited 'The Gate' restaurant many times and it never disappoints. Great service and foods cooked authentic way. Definitely go again next year."
"This restaurant is a real 5 star experience. The pulpetta and fillet steak were perfect, the deserts are mouth watering, the wine is mainly Maltese, good taste and value. We visit every time we come to Malta and have never been disappointed. Sarah runs front of house brilliantly, and recognises us each year. Try it you will enjoy!"
"We visited the restaurant with our two young sons. The service was excellent - very attentive. The food was first class. My wife had the lobster and I had the sea bass - both were cooked perfectly. We will certainly be going back before we leave. Great food, great service, and great value."
"We live in Malta and have been coming to Ix-Xatba since Ray first opened the restaurant many years ago. We have always enjoyed first class food and service. The fish is always cooked to perfection and never have I encountered one single bone in it, (unlike other places where every mouthful is full of them despite it supposedly being 'filleted'). Definitely our favourite restaurant and always our first choice for an enjoyable evening out." Visited August 2013
"We went to this restaurant on the 7th of September, we had booked at another one initially and found it closed, I feel this was our good fortune. The staff are very welcoming and very efficient we was provided a table for 4 at short notice shortly after our arrival the place was full the atmosphere was very nice. now for the food: we only had garlic bread as starters this was nice as was as advertised. for mains I had Snapper it was lovely and no bones, my wife had a fillet steak again she commented how nice it was, our friends had salmon and rabbit again both were extremely satisfied with their selection the rabbit was plentiful. With all of the meals there came a selection of roast potatoes, broccoli, carrots and other veg. during this course we were checked on by the staff to ensure all was OK. we had lager and wine with the meal. For sweet myself and one friend had Maltese bread pudding this was really nice, my wife had apple pie of which she said was very tasty. so all in all this place was top dollar in my opinion. The bill was the biggest surprise with wine and at least 4 large beers it was109 Euros. So we were extremely happy after the stress of finding the halfway house restaurant closed even though they had accepted our booking! WELL DONE IX-XATBA sorry to say I did not take any photos I wish we had."

"We went to ix-xatba as a couple and we were lucky to find a table. We started with a fish soup followed by a Mediterranean fish of the season (lampuka). The soup had an excellent flavour. The fish was cooked to perfection. It was accompanied by tasty baked potatoes and cooked veg. All this was accompanied with excellent service with a smile.
Much to our further delight, the bill turned out to be very affordable. We got excellent value for our money.
Well done, Xatba"
"We had a lovely dinner at this restaurant and none of us had any complaints. Clean plates all round! Front of house is the owner's wife with two young and very efficient assistants. The owner is the chef and looking around the restaurant (there must have been 50 covers or so) everyone seemed to be enjoying his cooking. The menu is varied and should meet most palates."
"We ate at this restaurant on our second evening (Friday 13th September), very helpful staff, nice atmosphere, managed to get a table outside on the roadside balcony. Good choice of menu, delicious fish and meat selection, good portions well presented and accompanied with choice of vegetables and potatoes. Good wine selection - restaurant has a good atmosphere and would certainly recommend this to anyone wanting an enjoyable evening. This restaurant is down on the beach level, (not in the High Street) - so worth finding. Thank you for an enjoyable evening - Uncle & Nephew."
"We had a nice dinner there last July. The restaurant has a nice athmosphere, really cozy. Fish is really fresh and well prepared. If you don't like fish you can try the lamb or other meat specialities. I loved the desserts, especially the apple pie and the chocolate cake (delicious!). The owner is very kind and she will give you all details you need about their dishes. She also speaks good Italian. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food served."
"We had a lovely meal here. Food was lovely and the service was fantastic had a lovely nite here. The meal didn't cost the earth either. We sat outside and enjoyed the meal and watch the world go by. "
"Have always had excellent food with wonderful service at Ix Xatba, and this visit lived up to all our expectations. Great selection of Maltese wines to complement the food. Very good value for money. "
"We walked in late one evening without booking, they accommodated us but the wait was forever, not a good start after seeing great reviews on T/A. Food was superb when it arrived and we were given a complimentary bottle of good wine by way of an apology.
We booked for our last night, no waiting this time, front of house service excellent and food just perfect! Would definately recommend this restaurant ***** BUT always book!"

"The quality of this restaurant came as quite a surprise, as it doesn't look like much from the outside. What drew us in was the promise of traditional Maltese food and my partner was eager to try some rabbit! We were seated immediately outside, despite not booking. We did eat quite late however. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the waitresses were all cheerful and helpful. The food was excellent, I had the seabass which was wonderful. Excellent value for money as well. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant!"
"Walked down the street from Seabank and saw this restaurant, looked at Trip Advisor and decided to book. Great quality seafood. Octopus stew to start, not at all chewy and slightly off piste for the main of grilled prawns and whole calamari in a garlic/chilli sauce. Fantastic! House wine 8 Euro/bottle. Very nice family run restaurant. Thanked the chef at the end for his efforts. Worth a visit"
"We were last in Malta 2 years ago and had heard very good reviews on our last couple of days about this place, so we were eager to try for ourselves, well, Fantastic! great food the steak my wife had was superb, my Lamb shank was also superb, cosy and friendly, on the smaller side, but just enough room between tables and this adds to the atmosphere.
we went twice and both times was excellent. as for the Poor review on here take it with a pinch of salt, the 94% of people who rate this place are closer to the truth"
"This is undoubtably the best restaurant in the world i eat here every night and will go nowhere else if they are closed i will do without, This is food at its best and people should try"
"We booked this via the hotel and were not disappointed. It was a very nice restaurant, pleasant and full of character. It is family run but that did not mean unprofessional. The staff were very friendly but not over familiar and the manager (I guess that was her role) had her eyes everywhere and ensured service was swift and all our needs were met. The food was excellent and very good value, especially for New Years eve. It was a 5 course meal with choices on the appetizer, main course and desert. I had steak which was cooked exactly as requested and delicious. The vegetables were fresh, hot and al-dente and the potatoes were heaven! We had no room for desert but I saw it being delivered and they looked delicious - most people seemed to go for the Tiramisu but I would have had the apple crumble if I had had room, just as well I didn't as the portions were huge. The petit-fours with coffee was a nice touch, unfortunately (the only down side) was the 'champagne' was too sweet. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. and didn't finish eating until 11:30 p.m. The crackers were also high quality. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, it was the best meal of our holiday!"

"Were greeted by a very warm welcome upon our arrival and had friendly hosting throughout the evening. Besides having a great service, the food was excellent with rich flavours and consistency in all the plates served at our table. It was a great experience and perfect for celebrating a birthday occasion."
"We drove down to Mellieha Bay and saw this small little place with a nice fish display outside. Assuming it's a restaurant which specializes in fish, we ordered the meagre fish, mussels, prawns and octopus. Lovely, weren't disappointed at all, and will definitely return back."
"It's nice place for a great night out. A great experience, fresh local food, good service and value for money"
"It's one of my favorite restaurants. Great service, lovely atmosphere and excellent food. I opted for the fresh mussels and my husband had the octopus as a starter, both divine. for main course we had the fresh rock fish and the fresh Angus rib-eye, very tasty. definitely go back and recommend it to others."
"We were a family of 4 and dined at this restaurant. My kids ordered from the kids' menu while me and my husband went for Lamb shanks, still cooked the traditional way and a pepper fillet steak which was very tasty and tender. Friendly service."
"There are so many good restaurants in Mellieha that we tend to save this one for the winter months as it is cosy. However if you are tired of the sun it is a retreat in the summer too. Good menu, good prices and friendly service. Don't go in a hurry, make an evening of it. The menu is on display outside which is always reassuring."

"We ate here on a number of occasions during our 2 week stay and I can say these were the best meals we had. I have had a gastric bypass so my food portions are tiny, I explained this to the waitress and she offered me a choice of meal in smaller portion or from the kids menu. I said I was happy to pay the full amount but this was refused!! We cannot fault the service at all, the waitresses are attentive and helpful and the food is superb. Please try the steak with mushroom sauce and the Lamb shanks, these are the best on the Island. On our last night, our drinks were not charged for, which we thought was a lovely gesture!!Thanks to the whole team, you are doing an amazing job and we cannot recommend you highly enough!!"

"Well looked after, even when it was extremely busy... Lovely housewine and Maltese dishes. The lady owner is very helpfull and kind"
"Only ate in this restaurant twice because we only found it three days before we came home, which was a shame because we would have been there every night otherwise. The food was the best I have eaten in a long time, we had the steaks with pepper sauce, The owners were welcoming, extremely professional and friendly, we had wonderful meals."
"At first I thought this would be one of those tourist only restaurants but after reading all the positive comments we decided to give this place a try. And we have not been disappointed at all. Maximum points for food (quantity, quality and selection), service and ambience. The young lady who I presume is the owner gave us continuous attention. Starters included an abundant portion of mussels. My fish was well-filleted as promised. The wine list was well varied. I could not find anything whatsoever to criticize. We shall definitely go again and I would very highly recommend this place for any occasion, a romantic evening, business dinner or for an evening with friends."
"Me and my husband were having a walk around Mellieha to find a restaurant and we came across this one. We hadn't booked but the lady offered us a table with no problem. We had a lovely bottle of Maltese wine and asked for her recommendation of what to try. When food arrived it was cooked to perfection. Absolutely lovely tastes and cooked fresh. We were full but wanted to try their puddings and just like everyt'hing else is was fantastic. I would definitely recommend and we are hoping to go again before we fly back home.
"On the Ghadira bay strip Sarah and Family give you the quality service and excellent food you might expect from a 5 star restaurant. The 4 tables outside give a fine view to the Mellieha church."
"I recently visited this restaurant and had to try the seafood as everyone recommends it in Malta. There wasn't a massive menu, however, this is a small restaurant so you wouldn't expect one. This was one of the nicest restaurants we visited and we sat outside as it was so hot the week we visited. The food was reasonabley priced. I would definitely return if visiting Mellieha."

"Really nice welcoming & friendly staff. Food not bad either!!! Must go if staying at the Seabank Hotel - only 10 mins walk away"
